Manhattan Edit Workshop and theC47 present the Documentary Filmmaking Intensive

This one week hands-on intensive will cover the art, pre-production, production and post-production of non-fiction filmmaking.

 

Through hands-on exercises and demonstrations, instructors Josh Apter and Jem Schofield will lead you through documentary filmmaking techniques, project planning, producing, shooting and cutting with the most popular tools on the market.

Each student will take a small documentary project through pre-production, production and post-production during the program and we will screen all films at the end of the week.

 

Notes: Students must bring their own video camera, tripod and basic audio package to the program. We would be happy to make cost effective recommendations on equipment.

 

Students are expected to have basic working knowledge of how to operate their camera systems and have basic sound recording experience. Basic editing skills (straight cuts), is also expected for this class.

 

This program will immediately follow our three day DSLR / Digital Cinema Intensive. If you are interested in the Documentary-Style Filmmaking and Production Intensive but need to come up to speed on the camera, lighting, audio and post side of things, you can attend the three day weekend intensive first so that you qualify for the one week doc intensive.

 

Each student will be provided with their own workstation for post-production.  Please indicate which camera you intend on using in the comments box.
