HD Expo Returns to New York City

After a successful event last year in New York, HD Expo - Createasphere returns to NYC September 15th - 17th at the New Yorker Hotel. HD Expo has quickly established itself as the premiere trade show, education, and community event for the content creation industry. At this dynamic event keynotes, panels and intensive workshops allow participants to experience firsthand how leaders in the content creation community are quickly applying innovations in technology to their work. Manhattan Edit Workshop participated at the launch of the east coast HD EXPO in 2008 and proudly returns with an expanded presence this year.

Manhattan Edit Workshop will start the event off by offering a special Final Cut Pro Workshop and Certification on September 15th & 16th  for working professionals and up and coming editors who want to stay on top of developments in FCP and new versions included in the recently announced FCP 7. On September 17th, MEWShop and Evan Schechtman will present Retool Bootcamp: From Broadcast to Broadband, an intensive three-hour seminar that demystifies key areas of the digital media pipeline and fills in knowledge gaps along the way.  In addition to these great workshops, MEWShop will also be present on the trade show floor and is co-sponsoring an editing panel with Post Magazine and American Cinema Editors entitled - "How the Editor Tells the Story: Creativity, Teamwork, Technology", a discussion with some of the most renowned editors working in entertainment today.

This year MEWShop will be running a specially priced two-day workshop and exam for the new Final Cut Pro 7. This will be the equivalent of Apple's certified Final Cut Pro 100 class including the certification exam.  This class will be taught by our Final Cut Pro Certified Instructor Chris Biggins.  Pass the Level-One Certification Exam and differentiate yourself to employers and colleagues as a highly skilled FCP user, receive a certificate from Apple distinguishing you as an Apple-Certified Pro, and have the right to use the Apple-Certified Pro logo on your own promotional materials.

Retool Bootcamp is an intensive three-hour seminar that focuses on vital workflow concepts and applications used in real-world environments, and presents an in-depth understanding of how modern work is executed for both broadcast and web delivery, from complex technical concepts to easy-to-implement tips and tricks.

Retool Bootcamp was created by and will be taught by Evan Schechtman, founder of Outpost Digital, New York's first and largest Final Cut Pro facility.  With more than fifteen years experience pioneering new workflows, Schechtman has created and configured post production facilities all over the world.  Having helped define the cutting edge in digital media workflow, Schechtman possesses a unique insight into the world of technology, business and promotion.  As the digital pathway opens and grows more complex, sessions such as Retool Bootcamp offer important tools for content creators.

Josh Apter, Founder of Manhattan Edit Workshop, noted that "Final Cut Pro Certification and the Retool Bootcamp, we are covering a wide spectrum of need for editors, both working and aspiring.  We are excited to be at HD EXPO - Createasphere this year, the event is gaining traction, and we are thrilled to be part of the training highlights offered there."
