Edit Fest NY took place last month at the Director’s Guild of America offices here. The conference was attended by editors, assistant editors, directors and producers looking to expand their knowledge base as well as the forms of media they work in.
Located in the digital media and entertainment destination of the world, Manhattan Edit Workshop (MEWShop) is open to aspiring and seasoned post production professionals and content creators looking to jump-start or perfect their craft. Combining both the artistic and technical aspects of the discipline, MEWShop (www.mewshop.com) is dedicated to uncovering students’ creative potentials and giving them a strong foundation in the art of editing. Their motto: “Less Starving. More Artist.”
“This year's EditFest hopes to bring the audience into the editing room for an insider’s view of what happens during the post process,” says Manhattan Edit Workshop founder Josh Apter. “What's special about any EditFest is the exposure it provides to the creativity behind such an important part of moviemaking. So few people actually get to learn the craft directly from experienced editors.”
Seven year old Manhattan Edit Workshop (MEWShop) offers a full range of certified classes in the art and technique of editing, including Final Cut Studio, Avid and Adobe. Customized classes are designed to provide top-tier training to professional's and aspiring editors.
