Our alumni don't just learn the tools. They get hired, build careers, and stay connected to a professional network that spans over two decades.

Manhattan Edit Workshop is a licensed Private Career School by the New York State Department of Education. That designation means we meet state standards for career-focused vocational education — distinguishing MEWShop from unaccredited bootcamps and self-paced tutorial platforms.

Career Outcomes from Real Graduates

"I Got Hired"

I could never thank you enough for connecting myself to DeVito/Verdi and AMC Global Media! The working relationships I've developed as a result have greatly benefitted my career.
Jacob Gradaille — Post Production Assistant, AMC Network
Thank you so much for connecting me to AMC Network. I really appreciate all of the help you've given me with the job application process and getting this opportunity.
Louie Saraceni — Post Production Assistant, AMC Network
I want to say how thankful I am for yourself and the MEW staff for all you've done for me. I feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity and I truly have MEW to thank so again — thank you so much!
AJ Mastrobuoni — Assistant Editor, Radical Media
My 6-week course gave me the fundamentals I needed to jump into the Assistant editor field, where I am now actively employed at a Post company. The teachers AND the Alums look out for you! The network built here is gold. Only furthering ones reach in the Editing world.
Gretchen Wells — Assistant Editor & Six Week Intensive Graduate
The workshop made me comfortable with different softwares and taught me essential organization tools that made me confident to take on projects by myself. Over the past year and a half, I've been able to gain enough clients that I quit my serving job and now work full time from my home studio.
Travis McClung — Editor & Six Week Intensive Graduate
Manhattan Edit Workshop has such an amazing facility with wonderful and extremely knowledgeable teachers who helped enormously to get a kick start in my professional career.
Margaux Hemard — Junior Conform Artist, Harbor Picture Company
Thank you again for everything over the last 6+ weeks. I'm already using some of the Avid skills you taught me, which proved to be a nice confidence boost while starting such a large-scale job!
Phoebe Pike — Post Production Assistant, Warner Brothers Studios

"The Network Is Real"

I'm continually impressed by the seriousness of purpose of the students passing through MEWShop's workshops, to the point where I've hired a number of graduates on projects of mine. My only regret is that a place like Manhattan Edit Workshop didn't exist when I was first trying to break into the film industry.
Doug Block — Director (112 Weddings, The Kids Grow Up, 51 Birch Street) & Founder of The D-Word
Thank you so much for connecting me with Doug Block. Through that connection, I've had the opportunity to work as an Assistant Editor on his documentary, which has been such a valuable experience. I really appreciate all of your support and the opportunities you continue to share with your Six Week students.
Taymour Nakib — Assistant Editor, Betty & Henri (&me)
I without a doubt owe my current career to the Workshop, as without it and my meeting Rochelle I wouldn't have been offered this position! I make it a point to recommend to anyone looking to be involved in the creative industry to take one of these classes.
Nick Ranieri — Digital Specialist, American Archive of Public Broadcasting
I certainly wouldn't be where I am now without the help of everyone at MEWShop.
Justin Gutwetter — Assistant Editor & Six Week Intensive Graduate
At the end of the class they give you great information, resources, and personal advice on resumes, cover letters, websites, and looking for jobs. I really feel like they do their best in preparing and connecting you to people so that you have good chances once you get out.
Dana Nyberg — Assistant Editor & Six Week Intensive Graduate

"It Changed My Career Path"

I've been freelancing in both advertising and documentaries since the six week workshop, and I can't thank you enough for the connections I've made since my intern placement at RadicalMedia. MEWshop really set me up for success, and with each new job I'm getting closer to my goal of moving up a chair to editor.
Elle Nave — Assistant Editor, Radical Media and WPP Productions
The training provided by Manhattan Edit Workshop has already proven to be immensely beneficial to my career. I've gained a solid understanding of editing techniques and software that have directly contributed to my professional growth and success.
Helena Derett — Lead Assistant Editor, ITV Pictures
I'm in the middle of a career transition from engineering to video editing, and I took a chance with the six week intensive course. I can't say enough how valuable this experience has been for me. You walk out with a portfolio website, confidence in your potential, and a community you can always keep in touch with.
Vanessa Rodriguez — Six Week Intensive Graduate
I went from having almost never opened Avid Media Composer, to now feeling highly proficient in the software as well as gaining accreditation from Avid themselves. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, and have remained active and in contact with me long after the class finished.
Calvin Schaafsma — Assistant Editor, Stone Lantern Films and Lotus Pictures
I owe a lot to MEWShop — your workshop has taught me so many things about film and opened the door of inspiration that enhanced my passion in film and editing.
