MEWShop’s Fellowship and Scholarship Programs are designed to support emerging and early-career editors by providing financial assistance, professional education, and industry access at pivotal moments in their careers.
These programs help remove barriers to post-production training while fostering a more inclusive, and connected creative community.
MEWShop Fellowship Program
Program Overview
The MEWShop Fellowship supports a small cohort of editors each year through tuition support, professional training, and mentorship opportunities. Fellows are selected based on creative promise, professional goals, and financial need.
Fellows receive access to MEWShop’s professional level education which includes:
Full or partial tuition for MEWShop’s 6 week intensive program
Access to select Sight, Sound & Story events
Mentorship or professional development opportunities with Artists in Residence
Portfolio or work-in-progress reviews
Resume and reel feedback sessions
Practical guidance on entering or advancing within the post-production workforce
Recognition as a MEWShop Fellow
Eligibility & Requirements
Applicants must:
Be 18 years or older
Demonstrate a strong interest in post-production or storytelling
Have some prior experience in editing, filmmaking, or media (educational or professional)
Show financial need and/or lack of access to traditional training pathways
MEWShop strongly encourages applications from individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in post-production.

MEWShop Scholarship Program

MEWShop Scholarships provide tuition assistance to individuals seeking to participate in MEWShop’s educational programs but facing financial barriers.
Scholarships are awarded on a rolling or periodic basis and can be applied to select workshop programs.

MEWShop (Manhattan Edit Workshop) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Manhattan Edit Workshop, Inc. operates exclusively for charitable, artistic, and primary education purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. No part of the organization's earnings shall inure to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual, and no substantial part of its activities shall be devoted to influencing legislation or participating in political campaigns on behalf of any candidate for public office.
