New York, New York – August, 2014 – Manhattan Edit Workshop (MEWShop), the cutting-edge authorized digital training destination for post-production and content creators, now provides certified training in Autodesk Smoke 2015. The latest version of the high-end editing suite is now one of the most popular and efficient post-production tools on the market to offer both editing and effects capabilities. Interested students will learn the basics of the program in Smoke 101: An Introduction to Smoke and more advanced techniques with Smoke 201: Advanced Compositing.  MEWShop also offers bundle pricing for students who attend both workshops.

Smoke 101: An Introduction to Smoke

The goal of this three-day course is to enable editors and compositors to quickly learn the essential skills needed to use Smoke in the post-production industry. This class introduces key components of the software as well as an understanding of the concepts that allow them to expand their skills while using Smoke in their daily work. The curriculum includes:

  •  Learning the interface
  • Media management
  • Editing essentials
  • Composite multi-layer scenes
  • Create a basic 3D scene
  • Color correction         
  • Basic animation
  • Keying and compositing
  • Rendering & exporting the final project

Smoke 201: Advanced Compositing

This two-day hands-on course dives deeper into the full capabilities of Smoke’s 3D scene creation. Students will build upon keying, color correction and other skills learned in the 101 as well as advanced compositing, visual effects, and tracking techniques that allow students to create a complex compositions with professional results. The curriculum includes:

  • Composite a 3D scene
  • Keying in action
  • Color correction techniques
  • Tracking and stabilizing techniques
  • Import 3D objects and scene
  • Create and modify 3D text
  • Media management

Cost: $1,195
