Premiere Pro Assistant Editor Workshop - $499

[TWO-DAY INTENSIVE, 10am-5pm]

This two-day course teaches the key skills and responsibilities of Assistant Editors working on both scripted and unscripted content. Whether you're aiming to work in TV dramas, reality shows, or documentaries, you'll learn the essential tools and workflows that help keep the editing process smooth and efficient.

Through hands-on lessons, demos, and real-world practice, you'll build a strong foundation in industry-standard techniques. You'll learn how to manage media effectively, including how to choose the right codecs, proxy workflows, organize projects, build string-outs, work with multicam setups, and use Adobe Productions. We’ll also explore how AI tools are being used to improve editing workflows.

The class will cover the following topics:

  • Set up and format a new project tailored for proxy editing workflows

  • Recognize different external project types and supported file formats

  • Customize keyboard shortcuts and build personalized workspaces

  • Organize and import assets using the Media Browser

  • Ingest footage, link media, and transcode for optimized performance

  • Generate proxy files and navigate the proxy editing process

  • Structure your project using bins, metadata, and folder hierarchies

  • Adjust clips, manage footage groups, and edit multicam content

  • Explore fundamental editing tools and core cutting techniques

  • Sync separate audio sources and adjust channel configurations

  • Navigate and utilize the Essential Sound panel

  • Design custom transitions and build Motion Graphics Templates

  • Transition offline edits into online workflows

  • Perform up-resing, decomposing, audio mixdowns, and relinking tasks

  • Export sequences and finalize projects for delivery

  • Learn the basics of working with shared storage environments

Who should attend? 

This class is designed for assistant editors, editors, post PAs, and producers.

Prerequisites:  

Prospective students should have taken our Adobe Premiere Pro 101 or have equivalent knowledge of Premiere before taking this class.

Each student gets their own workstation.
