Manhattan Edit Workshop (MEWShop) is pleased to announce that acclaimed television editor Eric Litman, ACE, will serve as Artist in Residence for the upcoming September session of MEWShop’s Six Week Intensive, beginning September 14, 2026.
An accomplished Los Angeles-based editor known for performance-driven storytelling, large-scale world-building, and helping shape ambitious television series from the ground up, Litman brings extensive experience across some of television’s most recognizable franchises and acclaimed dramatic series.
Litman recently completed Season 2 of Netflix’s One Piece, the global live-action series that combines epic scale, complex action and visual effects with character-driven storytelling. He also edited Dope Thief, the Apple TV+ crime drama produced by Ridley Scott and Peter Craig and served as an editor on the recent Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale pilot.
He is currently working on Netflix’s Rabbit, Rabbit, starring Adam Driver and Regina Hall and directed by Philip Barantini.
A member of American Cinema Editors (ACE), Litman began his television career editing Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel’s first television series. During his time on the show, he helped shape numerous premieres and finales while contributing to the series’ evolving editorial voice.
His credits also include Black Sails, Star Trek: Picard, The Hot Zone: Anthrax, Body of Proof, Magnum P.I. and Charmed.
Raised outside Philadelphia, Litman earned his BA in Film from Temple University’s Film and Media Arts School before receiving a Master’s in Editing from the American Film Institute Conservatory. His work is rooted in character, rhythm, and performance, with an emphasis on close collaboration with directors and creative teams.
As MEWShop’s Artist in Residence, Litman will bring that professional experience directly into the classroom, allowing students to learn from an editor currently working at the highest levels of episodic television.
Through small-group sessions and live discussions, students will have the opportunity to explore the creative decision-making behind professional editing, including performance, pacing, story structure, collaboration and the realities of building a career in post-production.

The Six Week Intensive is Manhattan Edit Workshop’s flagship career-focused editing program, designed to give aspiring editors the technical skills, creative foundation, and professional tools needed to begin or advance a career in post-production.
Students receive hands-on training in three of the industry’s leading professional editing platforms:
· Avid Media Composer
· Adobe Premiere Pro
· DaVinci Resolve
Rather than focusing solely on software, the Six Week Intensive combines technical instruction with the art and craft of editing. Students edit projects throughout the program, receive feedback on their work, study editing theory and storytelling techniques, and develop an understanding of why professional editors make specific creative choices.
The goal is not simply to learn how editing software works, but to learn how to think and work like an editor.
Students also receive dedicated career-development training covering resumes and cover letters, interviewing, professional rates, industry etiquette, portfolios and reels, and navigating both freelance and staff employment opportunities.
Avid Certification
As part of the Six Week Intensive, students also have the opportunity to pursue Avid Certification, an industry-recognized credential that can help demonstrate Media Composer proficiency to potential employers and collaborators.

Throughout the six weeks, students will receive hands-on software training, edit projects, participate in critiques and discussions, develop their professional materials, and gain direct exposure to working professionals such as Artist in Residence Eric Litman, ACE.

Eric Litman, ACE is a Los Angeles-based television editor whose work spans drama, action, science fiction and large-scale franchise storytelling.
